POSK
or the Polish Cultural and Social Association, despite its 1960's-style Communist-gloom architecture still seems to be the centre of the ever expanding British Polish community. I had a glorious meal in the cafe there earlier today - grilled sausage with mash, pickled red cabbage and cucumber and dill. Bliss. They even now have English-speaking staff (which I'm sure they didn't in my youth). All for a fiver - less than you would pay for some reheated muck in a pub these days. If you are a Londoner, go - it is five minutes from Ravenscourt Park Tube.

Bugger, it's started working again. And now I can't remember what I wanted to say.
Your comments also have a right eppy when I try to post - maybe it is something to do with the Beta version I use?
I think it must be. Every time I open a page (within comments), it asks me if I want to proceed as it might all be awfully dangerous or something. What is this beta-lark, anyway?
Next time I'm in the smoke, I'll be there. Definition of Poles: very friendly people, yet extremely nationalist. Or is that just bad luck on my part?
Daggi, no, I think you're right. Very proud, probably, they would say, because of their tragic history and actually being wiped off the map between 1795 and 1918.
On the technical front, Daggi, how is it that if I click on your link here I get straight through to your site - which is marvellous; I hate that in-between page - but for me and Lukeski, you end up on that stinking profile page?
Aarrrgg, blogger beta is really cack. "Your request could not be processed. Please try again." "Required field must not be blank" "404 Not found".
Again: I couldn't (as now) log in via my blogger name, so went round the houses as "other", meaning my link doesn't link to some blogger profile it doesn't know I have, but directly to the website...
