Sorry to comment on every post today! If it's any consolation, the efficient old Germans took bloody ages to get us telephonically connected when we moved too. Surely it must be just a question of flicking a switch somewhere. Can there be such a backlog? Does BT want to charge you a million quid for having dared to move house? Deutsche Telekom did, but, thankfully, in their efficiency, then forgot to charge us aforementioned extortionate rate.
OK, better go and get back to getting used to having a Kanzlerin and not a Kanzler any more.
