Some Finnish swearing
written on a London tube map by a Finn and a Yankee for me this evening:
Perkele, Helvetti, Saatan, Vitto, Runkkar.
Some Turkish swearing to follow, once the Guinness has worked its way through my system and I can remember how to add Umlauts.

Liukchik, I am very happy to see you compiling an international profanasaurus. Good work!
I have been inspired by the cataloguing of dictionaries that 'contain all the vocabulary you need to know' to pursue a dictionary, a la Borges, of words you don't need to know...
Helvetti? Is that Finnish for Switzerland? That is clever, making Switzerland be a swear-word. I propose Stoke-on-Trent becoming a swear-word in English.
"Otuzbirci" is apparently 'wanker' in Turkish. "Dalyuerek" is 'branch-dick' - far far worse in Turkish than English, I was assured earlier. "Gavur ama gibi yaniyor" means that somehting is 'Burning like a non-Muslim's p*ssy'. It tried to get 'like Ataturk's mother's p*ssy', but my source was less than forthcoming. "Yavshak" is 'crabs', and inordinately rude, if you say it to someone. Try them at your local kebab place...
I have to correct a few mistakes you made on your Finnish words, and how about some translations for you?
Perkele= Devil
Helvetti= Hell
Saatana= Satan
Vittu= Pussy
Runkkari= well, you don't want to know that one.
Runkkari is a wanker, if I'm not much mistaken. But, Liukchik, does this mean you have taken to accosting random Finns on the Tube to ask them to jot down swear-words for you? Are they usually happy to oblige? Finns are awfully accommodating. A little favourite of mine found here is the gem: vittujen kevät ja kyrpien takatalvi, literally 'Oh spring of cunts and cold spell of pricks', an expression of extreme disgust... Now we must grow up. I am mid-30s. No wonder I can't do a real job.
