What am I going to do?
When the World Cup finishes? There has been a tangible sense of existential angst cross London over the last week as the group round of the World Cup ended and there was no longer a guarantee of football on TV every night. I would imagine that violent crime, conception and suicide rates all rose on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

You could move to Germany and share your bereftness with the 80 million locals. I can't bear the thought of returning to silent streets and non-flag-waving. It's gonna be tough...
I walked down to Waitrose after the match - masses of slightly dazed looking men in England shirts, shorts and flip-flops (the most mysterious fashion ever). Rooney deserved to go. England played better without him and Beckham. Sven is gone (hooray), I have Portugal in the sweepstake. Zizou looks in imperious form for Les Bleus.
Ecstatically happy, at least, that Brazil is out. I'm right with Houellebecq on Brazil. Still hoping for a German win overall though. Nothing could possibly interest me less than, say, an Italy Portugal final. I'd rather watch curling.
So, have you worked out alternative pastimes?
